Devan For'deschel

Devan For'deschel was a female Jedi Knight of the Old Republic. Noted as tall and striking, Devan, like many Jedi, grew up and trained in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Much of Devan's training was done under Jedi Master and Council member Mace Windu. As an adult, Devan found that she possessed skills that enabled her to excel in the areas of diplomacy and education. She became a master of the Form V version of lightsaber combat, also known as Djem So or Shien.

Additionally, Master Devan was part of the research team that investigated the events surrounding the discovery of the Sith artifact, the darkstaff, and the sudden disappearance of the Cularin System. Ultimately, Cularin's disappearance was solved and the system reappeared in the galaxy, due very much to the work done by Devan, although she humbly plays down her role. After the reappearance of the system, Devan worked to help rebuild trade alliances and diplomatic ties with Cularin and the rest of the galaxy. Because of this, she became well known throughout the Cularin System and was welcomed by many of its citizens.

Devan also spent much time at the Jedi Academy at Almas when many of its Jedi Masters left to fight in the Clone Wars. There she became friends with Jedi Master Lanius Qel-Bertuk and the Wookie Jedi Master Kirlocca. Sooner or later however, Kirlocca also left to lend his effort to the Clone Wars and Devan was named the new Mistress of Lightsabers at the Almas academy by the Jedi Council. Her experience, lightsaber mastery, and time spent in the Cularin System made her the perfect choice. Devan remained on Culrain for the remainder of the Clone Wars doing her best to train a new generation of Jedi Knights.
